LED, photodiode and solar cell

An LED lights up in forward bias, a photodiode conducts more in reverse bias under light, and a solar cell generates a voltage: see their I–V curves, open-circuit voltage, short-circuit current, maximum power and fill factor.

What you do in the lab

Change the controls and watch the physics behave in real time in 3D. Live readouts and graphs show the numbers behind it, and the Learn tab has the theory, procedure, observations and viva questions. Works on a phone or a laptop, in English and Hindi.

Topics: LED · photodiode · solar cell · I-V curve · fill factor · optoelectronic
